Ways to Serve

From [Christ] the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Ephesians 4:16

Greeters

Be a smiling, welcoming face that a person new or old to FPC sees on a Sunday morning. Contact Holly Kisly if you would be interested in greeting people at the main entrance or handing out bulletins before a morning service.

Music

Singers and musicians are encouraged to join the worship team throughout the year.  Seasonal choirs are also opportunities to learn new music to share with the congregation.  Contact Matt Bundy for more information about opportunities, auditions, and practice requirements

Live Stream / Sound Booth

A team is always needed to help with running the livestream or working in the sound booth.  Sunday mornings are the primary time 2-3 people are needed to serve the body, but occasionally there will be an evening service or a special service like a funeral.  Contact Matt Bundy if you have served in a capacity like this or are willing to be trained to serve on a rotation basis.

Prayer

Join other people who pray faithfully for the needs of this body. Contact Lynn Miser so your name can be added to an email list. You will receive regular praise updates and prayer requests.

Faith Nurturers

Parents who come on Sundays with young children can benefit from others coming alongside them during the corporate worship hour.  Faith nurturers care for physical needs as well as use the time to share spiritual truths with the little ones. Contact Hope Aikens if you would like to serve in the nursery on a rotation basis. Membership and background check requirements apply.

Cleaning in Nursery Areas

The church building is cleaned weekly by an outside company, but the nursery toys, books, and crib need special cleaning by other volunteers at least once a week. Contact Hope Aikens if you would like to help keep the nursery items clean.

Teach / Assist

The session considers Sunday morning Bible study an opportunity for age appropriate discipleship.  Teachers and assistants are necessary for building one another up and for passing truth to the next generation. Contact Pastor Andy or Hope Aikens if you have experience or desire to teach or assist with children, young people, or adults.

Lord's Supper

We take the Lord’s Supper at least once a month, usually the first Sunday of the month and during special seasons.  Contact Matt Bundy if you would like to be on a rotation with others, potentially serving once or twice a year to prepare the Lord’s Supper as well as help with cleanup.

Hospitality

Preparing food, decorating or cleaning spaces, and setting up tables is a frequent need, whether it is for a luncheon after a church service or for a meal to care for a family who is gathering for a funeral. Contact Beth McCrabb if you would like to help with hospitality needs.

Sunday morning refreshments

Another way to be part of a hospitality team is to provide and prepare coffee, tea, and water on a weekly or monthly basis. Contact the church office if you would like to serve by preparing and cleaning up the Sunday morning refreshments.

Women's Ministry Teams

Many opportunities are available to reach in and love one another. Besides addressing specific ministry objectives, women meet quarterly to build friendships and strategize how best to care for one another.  Women can serve on the Visitation team, Make Them and Take Them a Meal team, Adopt a Family team, WinGs Support team, or a Card team for two years at a time. Contact Lory Wood for more information.
